Naika

Naika, believed to have been born in 1992, was abandoned by an Egyptian circus traveling through Kenya. A family in Kisumu took her in until the authorities confiscated her in 1995. Naika was brought to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where she settled in very quickly with the other chimpanzees. She is quite a strong, determined character, and is now the 3rd ranking chimpanzee of her group.
